Kayttaytymistieteiden laitos

This morning I finally received my official grant letter. A faded photocopy scanned and emailed, and the whole thing is in Finnish. From what I could make out, I’m getting €9600 for a stay of at least 8 months, but everything else in the letter was legalese directed to the school.

I’m very glad to finally have it though, since now I can start my immigration paperwork.  Luckily, I’m not going to need a visa, but I do have to go in person to the embassy or a consulate with a residence permit application. I’m hoping I can get that done in Chicago–otherwise I’ll have to go all the way to the embassy in New York.  At the very least, I’m hoping the Finns will be more helpful, if not less bureaucratic, than the Brits.
